Hello, my name is Crystal

Family. Couple, and Fashion Photographer

I am a Missouri photographer documenting the love and lives of families, couples, and fashion lovers across Missouri.
Gardening, cooking, photographing and spending time in nature, and making memories with my family and friends are my go-to's in life. I'm so happy that you're here. Can't wait to hear your story!

A little backstory..

Do you remember when our aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, or grandparents would have a camera or video recorder at get togethers or special occasions? Documenting all of the laughs, opening of gifts, loved ones standing around talking, children playing.

I have many fond memories of my grandparents putting a stamp on time with family pictures and home videos. As us kids were getting older, they allowed us to take the reins some. We ran around with disposable cameras, point-and-shoot digitals, which then eventually lead me to documenting my own story once my husband and I had children. I don't think that I could ever put my appreciation for my grandparents into words. Looking back, how they preserved those childhood memories of friends and family, I know that it was all of them who heavily influenced my love for photography.

In 2015, I purchased my first camera, eager to learn everything there was to learn about photography.

I started out photographing just my family and friends, then began to reach out to models about fashion photoshoots, started to photograph other families and couples outside of my little circle.  With making a big move from the Kansas City area to rural Missouri, I put my camera down for a couple of years but continued to hone in on my personal style of editing and capturing light and love. I enjoyed every single bit of the quiet and calm, but I missed photographing others' stories.

I made the decision to open Crystal Diane Photography in October of 2019. It has been an incredible journey over the last 6  years,  getting to work with so many people from all walks of life. I have photographed stories of people that were experiencing heartbreak, in a chapter of finding themselves, falling in love, celebrating accomplishments, going through struggles, and walking with hope towards new beginnings. I've photographed life. Trusting me with your stories, it has been an honor.

Now I'm gearing up for a shift in photography style, one that moves me in the chapter I'm in as an artist. You will see more work with a mixture of editorial, classic film, dream-like tones and vibes. I'm excited to bring this to life with you!
